The SEO we dont do! (Black SEO)
It is important at this time to make note of SEO tactics that we DO NOT use. You may have heard the phrases ‘white hat SEO’ and ‘black hat SEO,’ and they mean what you might suspect: white hat SEO is performed by the good guys, while black hat SEO is practiced by the villains of the industry. SEO 1 Medical does not condone black hat SEO, and will not engage in any black hat SEO practices, whatsoever.
Black hat SEO techniques may provide you with a quick boost to your page ranking, but the deception will inevitably be discovered and your website will be penalized heavily as a result. White hat SEO might work a little slower, but in the end the results are much longer lasting and more substantial, and you do not run the risk of sanctions by the major search engine companies.
Types of SEO to Avoid
The following techniques are commonly associated with black hat SEO, and you should avoid any SEO providers that declare an intent to use them:
Content Spam
There are several black hat techniques that will run you afoul of the search engines, including keyword stuffing, hidden or invisible keywords, scraping, article spinning, and others. All of these tactics attempt to elevate your page rank by tricking the search engines or stealing and re-purposing content from other sites. Obviously, this is a huge no-no. Search engines are increasingly able to discern content spam from legitimate content, and websites with spam are penalized heavily.
Link Spam
Another black hat technique is to create vast webs of links between sites to boost their page rank, despite the fact that these links have no value or merit. Buying links and using deceptive links can also be forms of link spam. Aggressive link spamming is one of the surest ways to get de-listed.
Cloaking
This is a sophisticated technique that attempts to show the automated search engine indexing programs (‘spiders’) a different page than what a human might see. Obviously, this is a very aggressive form of deception, and when discovered the search engines respond accordingly.
Consequences of Black Hat SEO
Ranking penalties, de-listing, banning… these are all potential penalties for websites that have been caught with black hat SEO elements incorporated into them. SEO 1 Medical will never act to get you penalized or banned! If your website has included black hat SEO in the past and you have been de-listed/banned, we can help get you back in the good graces of the search engines!
